HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Well belated Happy New Year! I’ve been belated on numerous things – sharing my pregnancy, taking trips with a toddler, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the list goes on!
Yes, I’m pregnant again, and am typing this out as I lazily slouch munching on chocolates next to a sleeping toddler. My third trimester kicked off recently – I’m currently 27 weeks pregnant and tired beyond belief. “Have more children” they said, “it will be fun” they said. DO NOT listen to said ‘they’. ‘They’ are either insane or super humans. Lyla is now a toddler and she’s crazy, I am terrified to find out how chaotic handling more than one child will be.
When I was pregnant with Lyla, I gained a total of 55 pounds. However, this pregnancy has been a whole other ball game. For starters, Lyla learnt that sharing is caring, only with food mind you. Everything I snack on HAS to be shared with her. Due to that, I lost weight in my first trimester, and then gained some back. Between chasing her and my lack of snacking, I only gained a quarter of what I did during my past pregnancy. Finding time to eat is near impossible, it only happened when Lyla was sleeping at night. I thoroughly enjoyed that during my second trimester, till my third trimester came knocking on the door with a package labeled “heartburn”. Ah yes. the pleasures of growing a human are countless (please note sarcasm).
I sound like an ingrate but, trust me, I do count I blessings everyday. From buying our first home, finding out we (by ‘we’ I mean ‘I’) are pregnant, I have TOO much to share from the last six months. I created this blog in order to share my imperfect journey, but it was also a way of reminding myself of what made me happy – writing. Sharing my life through publishing these string of sentences was my outlet, it was a form of self care. Half way through 2019 I lost track of focusing on myself because of all the craziness, but I plan to change that this year. For now I’m going to take a step back from flooding this page with too much, as this is more of a blurb of what’s yet to come! I just wanted to wish you all a happy new year, and that THIS year I plan on spacing out all my outbursts, emotions and blog posts! Here’s to many more laughs, stories, reality checks and some well deserved ‘me’ time!
